The Liposuction Procedure

Liposuction is typically performed as an outpatient surgery using general anesthesia. Traditional liposuction involves small incisions made in the areas targeted for treatment. Dr. Haverback will insert thin metal instruments, called cannulas, into the areas and gently move them back and forth under the skin, vacuuming out the fat and fat cells. Minimal risk of noticeable scarring is a major benefit of liposuction and is one of the reasons for the procedure’s extreme popularity. Recovery after Liposuction

Most patients enjoy a rapid recovery from liposuction and are able to return to work in a few days and normal activities in two to three weeks.
